This renovation is a great example of our commitment to keep clients living on-site whenever possible. We scheduled our work around the needs of a family of four, enabling them to stay in their home throughout the duration of the project.
In cooperation with St Albans based studio Selc Architecture, we replaced the old rear conservatory with a practical new side extension. We converted the loft into a new living space, altering the hipped roof to an elegant gabled one with a rear dormer window. Our experienced team also installed rooflights and altered the existing openings.
Inside, we set up a temporary kitchen while we completely refurbished the current one. The hallway and lounge were left untouched, and the family bathroom was refurbished once the loft and ground-floor renovations were finished. This meant that the family had access to a fully functional bathroom at all times.
Together with our decorating team and local suppliers, we gave the entire house a new look with a top-quality finish in every detail. In the final stage of the project, we landscaped the patio and driveway and installed new fencing.
“We lived in our house whilst DB undertook a first-floor extension, loft conversation and remodel. From the tender process to final sign off, DB guided us through with patience, professionalism and consideration. They spent time understanding what we wanted from the build and supported us during the bumps in the road which inevitably come when undertaking such a project - they didn't think we were crazy for living in and went above and beyond to ensure we could, with kitchen and bathroom facilities kept running throughout. Their quote was accurate and their work is high end. The contractors DB used are also exceptional - they only use people they trust, and this shows as timeframes were kept and snagging was minimal. One year on we are still incredibly happy with the finish and workmanship - we would recommend DB Renovations without hesitation. Thank you Sarah, Dom and the wider DB team!”
We'd love to talk to you about your home renovation project.
